What level of mountain biking are you doing? Transition and Santa Cruz are pretty good brands.
Nothing over the top, just back trails and whatnot.

Well what are you going to be using it for? Are you going to ride mountains? I'd suggest a mountain bike. Are you going to ride roads? Well maybe a road bike would be a better choice.

if it's just back trails, maybe something a bit less than those brands; they're pretty much made for more serious riding

Well Spartan I was thinking about riding on clouds. Do you have a bike suggestion for that?
