So, the title speaks all. You can't be a real otaku if you didn't spend at least a dollar on an anime convention. As of right now, the best item I got is a "U mad?" pin with a trollface in it and Gundam Astray from a design competition. Laugh all you want, I was low on money and it so happens that today is the last day off our local convention.

I always have a money ready in my wallet, it just that they almost never held an anime conventions in my country, the last convention was held in 2000 and I was just 6 back then.
Now they only hold up a cosplay competition, and usually its closed to public.

I haven't had a chance to go to one yet - I am poor, and there are none anywhere near me. I am planning to attend such things in the future, however.

They recently held an anime convention in my city, but it was located far away so I couldn't attend it do to time constraints.

Theyv never had one here as far as i know.

I do have a Black Star figurine on my shelf tho, that was from some Japanese owned shop though

Closest i can get to that is prolly the Free Comic Book day at the comic book store, scored myself the new green lantern release for the movie coming out
as well as Mass effect redemption, Captain america+Falcon and Penance for like, 75% off

the mass effect one being the only one i follow, the others just looked cool
