Finished Ares.
In short: it was great. Really great.
[16:51:04] <Tonakai> Two volumes left of Ares
[16:51:10] <Tonakai> I read 10 volumes today at work
[16:51:13] <Tonakai> <- worker of the year
[16:51:52] <Tonakai> well, as my defence I can say that it's work experience, my supervisor was gone at times and I was doing installation stuff
[16:51:54] <Tonakai> lol
[16:52:23] <Tonakai> and it's fast to read a volume of Ares because it's mostly fighting
[16:53:06] <Tonakai> And by mostly I don't mean like One Piece where each arc starts with comedy and exploring
[16:53:11] <Tonakai> and then there's a long period of fighting
[16:53:17] <Tonakai> Ares' more like
[16:53:46] <Tonakai> In the start of the arc there's introduction to some things
[16:53:50] <Tonakai> and/or foreshadowing
[16:53:51] <Tonakai> and stuff
[16:53:55] <Tonakai> plus fighting fighting
[16:54:05] <Tonakai> then it goes to fighting and fighting
[16:54:09] <Tonakai> then a bit planning in between
[16:54:12] <Tonakai> then fighting and fighting
[16:54:24] <Tonakai> maybe some flashback between
[16:54:28] <Tonakai> obviously that flashback has fighting, too
[16:54:50] <Tonakai> But man, it's easy to read the fighting
[16:54:58] <Tonakai> I can easily understand what's going on
[16:55:11] <Tonakai> unlike in some manga
[16:55:20] <Tonakai> there can be situations that I don't understand in some manga
[16:55:27] <Tonakai> but in Ares it's really easy to see
[16:55:38] <Tonakai> Even though the art style's a bit weird it's still pretty fun to read
[16:56:18] <Tonakai> And I think Ares is the first manga with mostly war stuff that I have read
[16:56:24] <Tonakai> I mean, sure, in One Piece there is wars and stuff
[16:56:32] <Tonakai> like Alabasta arc or the Marineford arc
[16:56:44] <Tonakai> But at least in Alabasta arc they still mostly focused on the Strawhat people
[16:57:01] <Tonakai> though in Marineford arc they focused a lot on others, too
[16:57:18] <Tonakai> But in Ares it's like half about the war and half about the other fights
[16:57:41] <Tonakai> one-on-one, two-on-two etc.
[16:57:56] <Tonakai> possibly even one-on-so-many-that-it's-unfair
Tonakai should note that Ares' a manhwa, not a manga
EDIT: Finished Akane-chan Overdrive. I never said that I started reading it, but well... It was a two volume series, anyways.
...It was really messed up.
Also, Akane-chan Overdrive's my 100th manga that I have finished reading. That includes all caught up series (40) and completed series (59).
100 mangas! Maybe I'll count the amount of chapters and volumes, too.
