Titanfall

If you want access to the beta and are worried you won't be contacted via your app, contact EA's help website using the links below, and ask about the Titanfall beta. They should give your Origin account access to the game.

Also, if anyone plays this, feel free to post your Origin name on the thread.

About

Titanfall is an upcoming first-person shooter video game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts as an exclusive for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The game was officially announced as Respawn's debut game at Microsoft's E3 2013 press conference, and is scheduled for release on March 11, 2014.
In Titanfall, players fight in online multiplayer-only matches set on a war-torn planet as mech-style Titans and their pilots. Its action is fast-paced, including abilities to run on walls and hijack mechs, and extended periods between player deaths. Respawn describes the game as bringing "scale, verticality, and story" to first-person shooter multiplayer gaming, incorporating elements traditionally used in single-player campaigns. The game uses Microsoft's cloud computing services to offload non-player activity to servers and optimize the home computer for graphical performance.
The game won over 60 awards at its E3 2013 reveal, including a record-breaking six E3 Critics Awards, and Best of Show from several media outlets. It also won official awards at Gamescom and the Tokyo Game Show. Many reviewers predicted Titanfall to be the next step for the first-person shooter genre, and IGN's Ryan McCaffrey declared the game "Microsoft's killer app".

Gameplay

Players fight either on foot as free-running "pilots" or inside agile mech-style walkers called "Titans" to complete team-based objectives[2][3] on a derelict and war-torn planet[4] as either the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) or the Militia.[5] The game is online multiplayer-only, but injects single-player elements such as plot, character chatter, and non-player characters into its matches.[6] Respawn founder Vince Zampella described the game as bringing "scale, verticality, and story" to first-person shooter multiplayer gaming.[7]
Up to twelve human players[8] choose their pilot types and are dropped on the map, beginning the game.[9] A timer displays the time until a Titan can be deployed, which is reduced by killing other players.[9] Once deployed, Titans are protected by a forcefield for about 30 seconds, which protects the player-pilot as well.[9] Pilots are agile and accumulate momentum while running (similar to Tribes), which lets players run on walls and chain together double jumps.[7] There are multiple types of Titans, each with unique abilities and animations.[7] Pilot and Titan controls are identical except where the pilot's double jump becomes the Titan's dash,[7] as Titans cannot jump, crouch, or cover.[9] The mechs are not slow, but their movement is slower than the nimble pilots.[9] Titan game-balancing abilities include the vortex blocker, which stops and returns enemy ammunition in midair, and electrified smoke, which hurts and repels pilots climbing the Titan's back.[7] Pilot abilities include the Smart Pistol, which shoots around corners.[10] Player-pilots can eject from Titans that take too much damage, and the Titan replacement timer is reset upon the Titan's death.[9] Titans can also act autonomously when put in guard and follow modes, which directs the Titan either to protect their vicinity or to tail their pilot, respectively.[11] Games end with a race to the losing team's evacuation dropship.[9]
Respawn has unveiled three Titan classes: the agile Atlas, the ponderous Ogre, and the nimble Stryder.[12] The Attrition multiplayer mode pits hostage rescuers against defensive kidnappers.[10] The Militia are the civilian military of the Frontier and the resistance against IMC use of colony resources. Their most important members include Titan War veteran and former mutiny leader MacAllan, intel specialist and engineer Bish, and Marauder Corps leader Sarah.[13] The corporate conglomerate IMC specializes in natural resource extraction, and came to the resource-rich Frontier for business. Their major players are Frontier operations commander-in-chief Vice Admiral Graves, intel specialist Blisk, and artificial intelligence companion Spyglass.[14]

Closed Beta (ends on February 17, 2014)

Players interested in taking part in the closed beta for Titanfall can now register to play the Xbox One and Windows PC versions of the futuristic first-person shooter.

In a release, publisher Electronic Arts confirmed that the beta will launch on Feb. 14. Those who have been selected to take part will be notified by publisher Electronic Arts via email "no later than 11:59 p.m. PT on Feb. 17th." Registration for the Titanfall beta closes on Friday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. ET.

Included in the beta will be three game modes: team-based deathmatch mode Attrition, control point mode Hardpoint Domination and Last Titan Standing, in which "everyone on both teams starts with a titan in a round-based mode that ends when one team has lost all of their titans. There's no respawning and no replacement titans can be called down."

tl;dr, holy shit this game looks amazing

I've been waiting quite a while for them to release the closed beta (which they finally did after a long wait), and it finally happened. From February 13 - February 17, the closed beta has opened and become available for the people lucky enough to get into the beta.

I was one of the lucky ones.

However; it's not that hard to get into the beta! I personally applied through the website:

HERE

and after waiting a day or two, eventually decided to just contact EA through the EA/Origin help website:

HERE

and they actually decided to just flag my Origin account for access to the Beta.

I heard a bunch of rumors about this, and I guess it works.
