I dunno, I'm inclined to side with avatar here. Lucky Star is one of my favourite animes, definitely in the top 10. It starts getting good around episode 7 or 8 (it's been a while since I last saw it).

Other animes I suggest are Ore No Imouto wa konnani kawaii wake ga nai, Gosick and Arakwawa Under the Bridge (absolutely hilarious).

I'm gonna regret this, but I suggest K-On.

Don't know if this have been recommended but Fairy tail is pretty epic.
